The Great List 05.04.12

Holy crap is it really May already? This year is going by way too quickly. Once my friend Val and I talked about why time seems to fly the older you get. She said, “when you are 5, a year is one 5th of your entire life so it seems really long. When you’re 31, a year is only one 31th of your whole life so the time seems less significant” Very true, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.

Despite the rapidness of the weeks, I still managed to metaphorically smell the roses. Here’s what they smelled like this week:

1. My first tiny tomato sprout! Hooray! I’m so glad my veggie garden has been responding well to its location. Now, if only I could get the dogs to stop laying in it……..

2. Off to Camp Blogaway today to meet up with friends old and new! I love blogging events, but I’m also really looking forward to spending a few days in the woods. Time amongst the trees is a necessity in my life, and I think this trip is going to do me a lot of good

3. Lots of food styling jobs in the works currently! There truly is nothing quite as great as getting paid to do what you love.

4. An old friend is coming to San Diego this weekend. I’ll be gone most of the time he’s here, but I’ll get to see him on Sunday and do some catching up.  I can’t wait!

I hope you all were able to see a few glimmers in your own lives this week. What were they? Sharing happy thoughts is always a great way to start a weekend!

Comments

  1. 1. Time definitely flies faster as you get older. Have heard Val’s theory before and it seems to be true.

    2. Glad to hear that you need the time among trees as I always have – a great way to calm you down and
get you to focus on more important things than your stress, anger, etc.

    3. Happy to hear that you are getting food styling jobs in large numbers. Would like to know more about it.
