My gal Val is back with another fitness tip for you all! For those who missed her infinite wisdom last month, check out her post on maintaining energy balance HERE. Take it away Val…..
In a lot of ways, I see this as the #1 most important part of any fitness routine. You have to stop thinking of exercise as something you can or cannot choose to do each day, and begin to think of it as a daily essential like having breakfast. There IS time. Trust me. Forget about going to the gym, or finding a peaceful moment to pop in that exercise DVD every single day. Those things DO take a chunk of time commitment, and should be maximized on days when you have that hour or two to spare.
On the days when you feel like every second is already scheduled, wake up 20 minutes earlier and go for a brisk walk around your neighborhood first thing. Heck, you don’t even have to get dressed. Walk in your pajamas. Then, take a break mid-day and walk around the block of your office building, or walk around the block after dinner. There’s another 10 minutes of exercise. Every. Little. Bit. Helps. What are some unique ways you squeeze exercise into your busy life? Leave a comment and let us know.

Great advice Val! This is such an easy excuse to make. This is super silly, but when I’m waiting for my tea pot to boil, I do jumping jacks in the kitchen. Usually it’s just because I’m cold in the morning, but it’s a great way to get the blood flowing and adds some cardio to my normal routine :
