It was a wild weekend of holiday parties, beer drinking, and cookie baking here at Betsylife. The season is in full swing, and my grouchy attitude is slowly getting chipped away. The Hubs and I attended two work holiday parties this weekend. On Friday was a sushi meal, and Saturday was an all day brewery tour complete with a double decker party bus, and a sublime ugly Christmas sweater that was hand made by a friend of mine. See photo below.
Although I was blessed with a seriously painful hangover on Sunday, Jen and I had scheduled our second annual Cookiepocalypse, so I had to pull myself together and get baking! There are so many people in my life that I love, and appreciate and want to thank this holiday season, but not enough money in my bank account to buy them all gifts. My solution: cookies!
Cookiepocalypse is simple. Two women, one kitchen, several pounds of butter, chocolate, sugar and flour, and one afternoon of wine drinking to make as many types of cookies as possible. Ok, Jen’s pregnant, and I was deathly hungover, so the wine drinking part didn’t happen this year, but I’m sure we’ll be back at it again next year. This year we pulled out 8 different kinds of treats including truffles and fudge, a realm that was new to us. Last year we did 9 types of cookies, so we were a little off our game, but the results were fantastic nonetheless.
