Dog life. It’s pretty sweet. I’m lucky to live in one of the most dog friendly cities in America. I get to go swimming all the time, my Mom and Dad take me everywhere with them (stores! restaurants!), and it barely ever rains so I get to play outside everyday.
With the exception of my pesky sister Summer occasionally bothering me while I try to nap, life is good.
Here’s a quick peak into my rad life.
Mom’s favorite part of each day is coffee time. I don’t really get it. Coffee tastes gross to me, and Mom usually yells at me if I bug her before she drinks some, so I just sit patiently and wait for her to finish.
Summer is slowly learning not to bug Mom until the coffee is gone, but she’s not quite there yet.
After coffee, Mom usually has to do some work. She’s a food stylist which is someone who teases dogs by putting food on the floor in front of them, while she takes photos. It seems like a weird job to me, but I’ve learned that if I wait patiently for her to finish her pictures, I’ll usually be rewarded with some food myself.
Yay Beneful!! My favorite! My Mom is so cool. We really have a good system going around here. I let her do her work, then she gives me food and plays with me in the backyard…….
….Pending I clean up after myself. Even dogs need to do their part in this household.
Swim time!! I’m an excellent swimmer. We have a pool in our backyard, and I’ve been swimming since I was a pup. I can even dive down and retrieve rocks from the bottom of the pool. I could swim all day if I had the chance.
Mom likes to drink wine while she floats in the pool or throws the tennis ball for me. I don’t get wine either. These humans have some strange tastes in food and drink.
Summer is starting to learn to swim just like I did when I was her age. Mom dips her in the pool and guides her to the stairs so she can get out on her own. She doesn’t love it as much as I do, but she’s slowly coming around.
Swimming works up an appetite for us all. When Mom eats, we beg. She laughs and shakes her head at us, and says something about waiting our turn. Eventually she gives us our own meal.
I love meal times. They are my favorite thing ever.
Yes! More Beneful. Woot! Mom always talks about something called antioxidants and well balanced nutrition.
I can’t focus on anything besides those crunchy beef bites.
There’s also carrots, spinach and peas in here. All my favorites in one tasty, good for you meal.
Even Summer likes it! I told her if she wants to grow up to be a big dog like me, she needs 100% complete and balanced nutrition like Beneful offers.
Good girl Summer. Being a good eater makes Mom proud.
Well this has been the first, (and probably last) edition of Olivelife! If Mom finds out I used her computer she’s going to kill me. If you want to know more about Beneful, check out my friend Ollie and his human Amy’s Dinner for Two videos. If you want to keep up with Summer’s and my adventures, you can follow my Mom on Instagram. I’m very photogenic.
See you at the beach!
