I am really earning this upcoming vacation! It has been a whirlwind weekend so far. Friday the Hubs and I went to dinner party hosted by some of his coworkers. We saw some great views of the canyons in Del Mar with hot air balloons flying over them and got to spend some quality time with their new 12 week old puppy, Koda. Too cute, but a little biter that one!
Yesterday was Jen’s baby shower that I have been looking forward to for ages. I think I’ve mentioned before that Jen is my first friend who I’ve seen frequently while preggo (most of my friends and family with kids live in other states) and this is the first baby shower I’ve ever attended. Hosted by wonderful friends, Amy and Collin, the day was perfect, the food was delicious, booze flowin’ (for the rest of us) and baby shower games were a plenty. I won the game for being able to name the artist and title of the most songs containing the word “baby”
Looking forward to spending the day poolside today with some out of town (and in town) friends. Last concert of the season at the park tonight too so we’ll definitely be hitting that up. Then, off to vacation first thing tomorrow
Ahhhhh, summer 🙂
I baked some lemon cupcakes for the shower. Gender neutral even though we know its a girl!
This is only one half of Amy and Collin’s AWESOME backyard complete with Horseshoe pit and hot tub (not shown)
Their garden was so impressive: Passion fruit, bananas, blood oranges, cherries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, like 5 types of squash, tomatoes, avocados, cucumbers, miscellaneous herbs, kale, onions, corn and more! I was blown away. The garden wraps around the entire perimeter of the yard so this is only one section of it
Made on site street tacos!(err, backyard tacos?) So yummy! (and spicy!)
Jen and Jeff the parents to be! Not much longer now till we all get to meet baby Leila. Can’t wait!!
