Oh I am so happy to be home with a fully stocked fridge!! The best feeling in the world is to open those doors and see every delicious item you could imagine. I have some SERIOUS food planned for this week!! Stay tuned!
As someone who always says “I’m not really into pizza” I sure eat a lot of pizza. I don’t love the traditional style of pizza (although being a Chicago native I will snap me up a deep dish slice here and there) however, I have learned that you can pretty much put anything on a pizza crust and call it pizza. Besides, most things taste better served up on a thin, crispy crust and eaten with your hands. Pizza is the Hubs favorite food (traditional style pizza) so whenever I call something pizza, he feels like he’s getting a treat.
I usually use Pilsbury, thin crust, refrigerated can of dough. There is almost ALWAYS a 2 for 1 coupon for these on shortcuts.com where I get a lot of my coupons from. You can make your own crust or use a Boboli or another prepared crust if you like. I’ve made such varieties of pizza as; turkey alfredo with spinach, mashed potato with bacon and cheddar, tomato with prosciutto and mozzarella, black bean with corn, mexican cheese and salsa, and, a local fave, introduced by my good friend Courtney; veggie pizza spread with herb cream cheese and topped with diced raw veggies (great party app!) Use up your leftovers and let your imagination go!
Tonight’s dinner idea was obtained from my always favorite, Cooking Light magazine
