Happy Valentine’s Day lovers! With all the new projects that have been keeping me busy lately, I’ve found that these weekly gratitude journals have become a touchstone for me to keep me from totally losing my mind amongst the chaos each week. You should try it sometime. Just take 5-10 minutes out of your week to sit in stillness and think about only what’s been Great that week. It’s so easy to think about what’s going wrong, but choosing to think about what’s going right is much better for your spirit. You’ll see.
1. On Thursday I found myself with a rare free afternoon. Luckily it was also unseasonably warm and perfectly sunny, so Olive and I hit the trails for a long hike. When we were walking to the canyons we passed through a nearby park. The park was packed with people in bathing suits, tossing frisbees, picnicking, and enjoying the beautiful day. I always feel blessed to live in San Diego, but this was one those moments that hit you in the face where you’re like, “man, I LOVE it here”
2. I’ve been thinking about a specific bundt cake idea lately. This week I finally got around to testing it out and it turned out PERFECTLY! As an artist, I can tell you there is no better feeling that when something you create turns out exactly how you visualized it in your mind. It’s a rare, and Great occurrence. You’ll be seeing it on this blog soon!
3. The Hubs is home this week after being gone all last week. None of his trips suck as much as they did back when he was in the navy, but I’d still rather have him home. I’m looking forward to spending a low key weekend with him.
4. I got my wine club shipment this week and it was THREE bottles! Sometimes it’s two, but occasionally its three. Obviously those months are infinitely better. Chandon must have known that February is my most hated month so they sent me an extra bottle to help me cope. Thanks for looking out Chandon.
I’m off to kick off this lovely day with some hot yoga, followed by many hours of intense work, followed by a lovely evening with my fam.
Enjoy your loooooove day and weekend everyone!
