I was so caught up in the excitement of publishing my latest video project last week that I forgot about my Great List, but I’m back now with a recap on the last few weeks.
1. I am so proud of the work I’ve been doing lately. Professionally, life could not be going better. I’m working nearly every day on projects that I love and interest me, and I’m learning so much along the way too. I’m Grateful for the people who hire me, not only because they’re helping to pay our new mortgage payment, but also because of the trust they’re instilling in me and my creative instincts. I feel like this is what I’ve been working towards for years.
2. Working out everyday is starting to get easier. Even though I did a different workout each day in San Diego, it was still a rotation of about 4 or 5 classes, and I think my body sort of adapted to those despite varying my schedule each week. Putting myself through entirely new sets of movement every day has been an exhausting challenge, but I can feel myself getting stronger. I’m really Grateful for the variety of options I have to choose from, but also for the super nice people and instructors I’ve met. It helps to make Oakland feel a little bit less lonely.
3. I’m not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but Berkeley Bowl, this awesome super market by my house, carries green papayas. Yes, the kind you use to make green papaya salad (Thai dish). This is one of my favorite foods and I have never been able to find them in a store anywhere, not even the asian specialty markets in San Diego. I picked up another one this week, and I’ll be enjoying a spicy and refreshing salad this weekend! I’m Grateful for the insane variety of new things that are available to me here in Oakland. I joke that I’m going to crash my car when I’m driving because I’m always looking around trying to snap a pic or write a note of something new I want to try. I could spend weeks eating and cooking my way through Berkeley Bowl alone.
Nothing too out of the ordinary this week, and that’s another thing to be Grateful for. When life is as chaotic as mine has been lately, a solid routine is one of the Greatest things of all. Looking forward to a mellow weekend of cooking, and relaxing.
