Well, I’ll say that the past two weeks have been trying. I’m looking forward to having a bit more normalcy in my life for the rest of the month (I hope). Despite the trials and tribulations in my life, the Friday’s keep coming, and that means its time to talk about the good stuff going on. Sometimes you have to squint, but its always there. Here’s what I’m squinting at this week.
1. Even though my friends the Tibble’s are permanently gone from San Diego, I was incredibly happy that; A. Adam is home safely from Afghanistan, and B. I got to see their newly remodeled home which looks FANTASTIC. I can’t wait to go back an visit this fall to see all the boxes unpacked and meet their new baby boy who should be joining us in July.
2. The Hubs had an excellent, productive, and uplifting time at his conference in Atlanta. His job can be pretty high stress, and that stress tends to affect the whole family at times. Good news on the work front for him, means good news for me. We roll together.
3. I was able to get out of town for a bit, spend time with some wonderful friends, and separate myself from the sad place that is our house right now without Grace. I’m hoping my perspective will be realigned by the time I get back. Bonus: with this trip came an introduction to a new baby and a new weenie dog! Olivia and Hans are quite the combo.
4. Birthdays! My friend Rachel’s birthday is today and I’ll be baking her a delicious cake, and celebrating with her at the Braves game. I’m looking forward to tailgating, beer and hot dogs!
Thank you all for posting the great things going on in your lives last week. They were a great distraction, and really helped improve my mood. I’m seriously grateful for the support of my friends and blog readers. You guys are the best! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and hope you’ll continue to share with me the great things happening in your lives.
