Welcome back for another issue of The Great List! Keeping this weekly gratitude journal has been such a blessing in my life. I cannot stress enough how much it has helped me to keep a good perspective on what is truly important each week. I encourage everyone to take a moment to count their blessings each week. I promise that you’ll find that life isn’t a tough as it seems.
1. Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day which is a rarity in San Diego in June. Our typical “June gloom” took a break, and I took full advantage. My in-laws and I enjoyed a lovely lunch al fresco, and the dogs enjoyed a long romp at the beach. Even Charley, my in-laws maltese puppy, loved the beach. Boozer is still the cutest dog ever in my mind, but Charley running in the ocean with the big dogs was pretty darn adorable.
2. I’ve been making some good money lately. The life of a freelancer can be a little up and down in terms of making money. Work is way up right now which is Great. The hard part is not freaking out when its down. Today I’m going to choose to only focus on the fact that things are going well so Yay for me!
3. I started my second-half-of-the-year travel planning this week. Nothing major, but some quality time with my girlfriends around the country is on the agenda! Thank you Southwest Airlines for flying everywhere that I want to go.
4. I’m 99.9% sure I’m going to hit ONE MILLION pageviews on my blog today! Holy crap! Blogging saved my sanity at a very difficult time in my life. It has been my biggest joy these past 3 years, and the most gratifying creative experience I’ve ever participated in. Thank you readers. I truly, TRULY love you. There are no words to accurately express what this milestone means to me. Grateful is an understatement. I will continue to write, photograph, cook, and enjoy life, and I hope you’ll stick with me for where ever the road takes me.
Enjoy your weekend everyone! May it be sunny, not too hot, bug free, and full of smiles. See you next week!
