Hey guys, I’m fresh back from an epic beach vacation in the San Juan Islands, and I’m feeling reeeeeeal good. It’s been so long since I’ve had a proper vacation. The kind where I can kick back, take walks on the beach, read, and enjoy great company. It was great to get away and just chill out for a bit. Here’s my gratitude list for the week.
1. The food! Oh the food was BEYOND incredible. We were in Seattle for 72 hours and ate 30,000 calories each. Oysters, pasta, Mexican food, grillables, desserts and endless amounts of wine. Then we moved to Lummi island and capped off our vacation with a 21 course meal at The Willows Inn. Talk about a food experience of a lifetime. If you’re a food enthusiast like me, definitely add this one to your bucket list. I’m so grateful to spend time with friends that share my interests. It was a dream weekend for us all.
2. The food at The Willows Inn was spectacular, but the accommodations weren’t too shabby either. We stayed in a house right on the sand, had the perfect sunset view right off our deck each evening, and fell asleep to the waves crashing each night. Although the forecast called for gloom and rain, it wound up being sunny and gorgeous. Thank you so much to my friend Jenny for putting together such an incredible trip. I’m so lucky to have her in my life.
3. The Hubs was part of the festivities this week and it was so Great to get away with him. Saying our lives are hectic is an understatement. We both really needed this time away together.
4. Back to the grind this week and it’s been non-stop already. I had to go to an event in San Francisco for work yesterday, and a co-worker randomly offered me a ride to the BART station. It seems like such a dumb thing, but I was so grateful to not have to deal with that one extra detail. Big or small, anything that makes my life easier is a check on my gratitude list.
I’ll be working all weekend long, but I feel rested and ready to tackle my ever-growing to do list. Cheers to hanging onto this motivation.
