The Hubs and I are heading out on a MUCH needed vacation to my family’s cabin in northern MN on Monday. I CANNOT wait for the walks through the woods, reading, card playing and catching up with my extended family. The Hubs is excited for fishing and golf. Typical man 🙂
The week before vacation is SO torturous to me. I’m trying to cram two weeks worth of work into one week (I have ZERO internet or cell reception in MN so there is no “checking in” with work) plus, we currently have a house guest, I have a birthday dinner and a baby shower to attend this week, and a BBQ to host on Sunday before we leave. That’s not even taking into account the laundry, packing and preppin’ the doggies for a fun week at the dog sitter. I’m really not complaining, believe me, I understand how lucky I am to be able to take a vacation at all (and have friends who want me at their birthday, baby shower and BBQ) but I just find it so hard to focus on anything the week before going out of town. It always seems to work out that I have very math heavy assignments the week before vacation too, which are next to impossible to tackle when my brain is in pre-vacation scramble mode. I’m currently doing my best to power through! Please bear with me if my blog lags a bit. Especially in the food department since my fridge is almost empty right now.
Long day at my desk (6am)
Still at my desk (9pm)- Aren’t 4 color pens the best?
Earlier today, on a quick brain rest, I walked past my old lady dog, Grace, and had to battle the urge to just forget about all my tasks and lay down in the sunshine with her. Dogs are so awesome
