It’s my birthday! I’m still in snowy Michigan shooting a commercial for a client out here. Usually I like to contemplate the past year for a few days, and come up with some personal goals for the year to come. However, this year is a bit different. I’m nearly too exhausted to even write this post, so I thought I’d keep it brief. My post 14-hour work day thoughts are as follows:
1. I worked so hard the last few years to create a career that I love. I can’t think of any better birthday present than getting paid for something I love to do.
2. Today when it started snowing, I kind of freaked out internally. I literally cannot remember the last time I saw it snow. It has been YEARS. I thought of complaining and hole-ing up in my room, but instead I put on my coat and hat (first time since January 2012!) and went outside to feel the chill and breathe the cold air. I mean, why not? I may not CHOOSE to travel to the snow, but if I’m here I might as well experience it. I’m really glad I did.
3. A smile and a kind word is the simplest and cheapest path to almost anywhere. Or, at the very least, its always the first step. These two things will absolutely never steer you wrong in any situation.
Random, I know, but that’s what’s on my mind at the current moment. Val and I make up a rhyming “saying” for each year, and I’m kind of loving 33 potpourri. It was totally a joke when it started, but in reality, I love the mixed bag of randomness that is my life. Some pieces are kind of stinky, but overall it smells great! I’m looking forward to my next 365 adventures.
