Stout beer chocolate float is the ultimate reimagined childhood favorite! Adults deserve to indulge in a bit of nostalgia with this boozy, chocolately, creamy treat.
I had a thought the other week that I found pretty interesting. Say everything goes well in your life and you live to be 80 years old.(By most of today’s standards, that’s a pretty conservative number, but it’s nice and round for our purposes here). This means that when you turn 40, you are starting an entirely new lifetime.
You have the opportunity to do everything differently if you want to. Have you ever been asked what advice you’d give to your younger self? Now is your chance to take that advice. Perhaps some of you are already living it, but I’m willing to bet that many of us are not.
Think about it.
Sure, you might end up struggling physically and mentally in old age, but you did that as a baby in your “first life” too. The time tables are just reversed this time around. Do you feel like you’re older and wiser now? Been around a while? Stuck in a rut?
Consider the fact that you may just have an entire second lifetime ahead of you. I think it seems like a pretty exciting opportunity if you ask me.
As I near my 35th birthday, I’m beginning to think, “how can I maximize the final few years of my first life”? I’ve worked hard on my personal growth this time around. I’ve traveled the world, been a good friend, and a loving aunt/sister/wife/dog mom. I’ve been dedicated, paid attention, and learned a lot, struggled, fell, got up, succeeded, failed, and stopped short a million times. I tried my best. Maybe not always, but more frequently as the years have rolled on.
I think this calls for a bit of a celebration.
Stout beer chocolate float
One thing I’ve learned in my first life is that simple things matter. In my opinion, a boozy, creamy stout beer chocolate float on a hot summer day is a great way to celebrate. I’m continuing my week of adult ice cream floats with an old favorite; chocolate ice cream topped with locally brewed Alesmith Brewing Company’s Speedway Stout. Speedway Stout’s creaminess, plus it’s chocolate and coffee notes make it the ideal beer to pair with ice cream. This float is what you make when you’re feeling truly decadent.
So cheers to five more, excellent years of life number one, and hopefully an even better life number two. If beer floats are a part of this one, I can’t wait to see what the next one has in store.
