Did you really think I could stop with just ONE pretty type of dyed egg, or ONE type of deviled egg variation? I think not!
For my next trick, I boosted my jewel toned eggs from yesterday up a notch. By mixing a bit of food coloring with a couple of tablespoons of vinegar, and a dash of vegetable oil, I was able to create a cool marbled effect. I know they already looked a little marbly yesterday, but now its more intentional looking. (Ha! Something an artist would say)
With another funky egg design comes another funky deviled egg recipe! For the base, check out yesterdays’ Basic Deviled Egg Recipe. This time I added:
1/2 c. lump crab meat
2 t. fresh tarragon
1/2 lemon zest
1/4 tsp. pepper
Southern Living magazine called this variation the “High Society” That’s totally how I felt when The Hubs and I were scarfing these down as dinner one night while schwilling beers.
