The amount of “stuff” that I have involved myself in since last Friday’s Great List seems a bit overwhelming when I look back at it. The only thing missing is the birth of my niece who should be joining us any day now. Hopefully I’ll be able to report on her next Friday! Let’s get to it because I’ve got another busy day ahead of me today.
1. Last weekend I attended a conference called Women Get Social. I got to spend time with some wonderful friends of mine and met several new awesome ladies. It’s always Great to meet people who share your same passions. My friends have always been supportive of me, but it’s different when you know people are dealing with the same struggles you are. Not only was the energy great, but the conference was super informative and helped spark a new level of blogging inspiration for me. Over the next few weeks I’ll be implementing some new stuff I learned on my Facebook page, and Google plus page so be sure to check it out.
2. I co-hosted my first Creative Connection event this week. This is an awesome group of Creative women that I’ve been a part of for quite some time. Talk about inspirational! Over the years some of these gals have become dear friends of mine, and there is no place I feel more supported than at Creative Connection. It was nerve wracking to be in a charge of an event for once, but I think everyone had a great time, and I’m really happy with the way it went. I went out for a drink afterwards with a few ladies, and had some really great conversation. It’s Great to talk to people you don’t see everyday who can offer you a new perspective on things you’ve been struggling with.
3. Since January first I’ve been working on a large and daunting consulting project with a friend of mine. February gave us the first real set of data that we were able to analyze, and after getting it all entered this week we can FINALLY see that we’re on the right track! I know this is so nerdy and math-y, but there are many facets to betsylife. It’s so rewarding to put so much heart and energy into something unknown, and for it to pay off.
One more day to grind through until the weekend! My parents are in town anxiously awaiting their granddaughter’s birth as well, so hopefully we’ll get some Great news today.
Take a minute to let go of the crap that’s cluttering your heart today, and only focus on the Great. Start your weekend off on the right foot.
