Friday’s are for gratitude around these parts, and I am so happy that this week is finally winding down. I feel like I can see brain rest in my near future. The last two weeks were those kind of weeks that were just a whirl of activity. I just kept going and going, and suddenly everything is done and I’m not even sure how it happened. Fortunately, I survived, unscathed, and I’m here now trying to recount some of the high points.
1. My oldest brother flew in for a brief visit last weekend to surprise my dad for his birthday. Even though our time together was short, I’m super grateful to have been able to spend a couple of days with him. I know the long winters in Chicago are tough on him, so I’m even happier that he got to see some sunshine and warm weather while he was here.
2. I filmed two new Betsylife videos this week. Oh boy are the creative juices flowing over here! More than anything in the world I am grateful that I get to create for a living. This has been my dream my entire life, one that I never really believed could be a reality, and now it’s happening, and I am overjoyed. These creative collaborations I’ve been working on lately have really fed my soul during a time when I’ve been kind of lost. I cannot wait to share my latest ideas with you all.
3. Speaking of collaboration, we hosted our inaugural Collaborative Thread event this week, and the turn out was staggering. Engaging with so many talented people at once is really something special. I’m so proud to be a part of such a Great community, and I’m super proud of my friend Marissa and I for pulling off such an awesome event. Looking forward to what the future holds for this awesome organization.
4. I’m so grateful that I’m starting to feel normal again this week. I suppose it’s an age thing, but the time it’s taking me to get back into my regular routine after vacation is getting longer and longer. This week I got 5 Great workouts in, Olive and I walked daily, and I finally got all the bills paid and the errands run. I know from experience that productivity is on the upswing so next week I’m sure I’ll totally crush it. Watch out world!
I’m glad that spring is starting to show it’s face around the rest of the country. February is my least inspiring month of the year, so I’m excited to start thinking about gardening, fresh foods, tiny sprouts, and all things warm and sunny. I hope you’ll check back to find some springspiration soon!
