Happy Friday everyone! I hear that today is the Ides of March, something I have no knowledge of, only that there’s Italians involved, so we will be eating pizza for dinner to celebrate! There will be champagne involved too, because there is MUCH more to celebrate, so let’s jump in.
1. Baby Carson is here! Jen went into labor early yesterday morning as her feng shui calendar predicted (we are soooooo SoCal) and the little heartthrob was born at 4:23 pm. No visitors allowed last night, so I’ll be going to see him early this afternoon. I cannot WAIT to meet the little fella, and talk to Leila about her thoughts. She’s at that magical age where her imagination comes directly out her mouth, so things could get interesting. There will be tons of Instagramming I promise, so follow me @betsylife to keep up with the squishy baby pics.
2. Finally a normal, no traveling week. I absolutely love my life, and the fact that I get to travel so much, but sometimes its nice just to be at home in your own bed for a solid 7 straight days. I’m hoping to have a productive weekend, and get the backyard cleaned up for my upcoming vegetable garden.
3. I arrived home one day this week to a shipment of organic fresh produce from my friends at Melissa’s Produce. This is GREAT for several reasons. The first being that having food shipped to my doorstep saves me the grocery store hassle. Amazing. I love it. The second being that, in my mind, there is no greater gift than food. Especially, healthy organic food. The third is that I love when I get food randomly like this because it really sparks my imagination. Generally, I’m a planner. I plan all our meals and shop carefully. When I get curveballs thrown in (I wasn’t planning on pears this week) it helps to inspire new recipe ideas. Thank you Melissa’s! Tune in soon to see what I make out of all this deliciousness.
4. Our trip to Mexico seems to have really helped The Hubs refresh himself. I tend to worry about him a lot. He works in a very high pressure job, and it really bogs him down at times. He has a hard time separating himself from his work, even when we go on vacation. I was worried that this short trip to Cabo wouldn’t be long enough for him to really “let go”, but it seems like he’s back to his old, smiley self again which is GREAT. I’m sure the pizza tonight will help too.
How was everyone else’s week? Be sure to take a minute for gratitude today. Whether your week was great, or seemingly crappy, taking a moment to acknowledge your blessings will make everything seem even brighter. It’s true! Start your weekend on a grateful foot.
