I’ve done so many things since I wrote last weeks Great List. I went to the San Diego Botanical Garden with my parents last Friday and saw some awesome plants and flowers. I went to Irvine for my nieces 1st birthday party. I shopped the latest Makers Arcade. I created some crazy fun recipes. I did some spring cleaning, and made a bunch of progress on my tasks-I-hate-but-still-need-to-get-done list. Phew! Despite all the activity, I’m still feeling a little “off”. I know as long as I stay active, things will fall into place eventually, so that’s just what I’m going to do.
1. The Hubs was out of town all weekend, and it was actually really Great. I’ve been struggling a lot lately, and so has he, and neither of us has really had the energy to support the other one. Yes, I realize how dysfunctional that sounds, but that’s life, and sometimes you just need some time to yourself to figure out those things that no one else can help you with. I felt like having space to myself is just the peace I needed amidst so many activities.
2. When The Hubs finally did return home, he brought me a retractable mirror so I could look in the birds nest on our patio. When I peeked I saw 3 baby birds! I expected to see eggs so this was an exciting surprise. We’re watching my brother’s dogs this week so I’m hoping the babies will stay put until they leave to decrease their risk of death by dog. Last year I saw them leave the nest and fly away, so I’m hoping for the same this year.
3. At yoga yesterday, the peak pose was bird of paradise pose, which is one of my goal poses for 2015. Even though I do yoga A LOT, bird of paradise pose almost never comes up in practice. It was Great to try it while I was nice and warmed up, as opposed to practicing it at home like I normally do. I’m happy to report that I can totally do it on my left hand side, but the right hand side still needs a ton of work. At this rate, I’ll have to set a new yoga goal mid year.
I know that Great things are happening constantly, so my wish for you this week is that you are able to see those Great things. Have a happy weekend!
