This Great List coming at you from Fredericksburg Texas. I have a day off in the middle of a 5 day shoot so I’m hoping to head out to explore this quaint town if this raging thunderstorm ever stops. Until then, I’m sitting in bed after a dead-to-the-world 9 hours of sleep, drinking coffee and watching The Price is Right.
Life is Great!
1. This shoot has blown me away so far, and I’ve only worked one day. Yesterday we shot in the family home of 6th generation cattle ranchers. We got to meet the whole family, learn about their 100 year history on their land, and meet some members of their herd. I ate food I’ve never had before, and was welcomed like part of the family. I’m beyond Grateful for experiences like this one that allow me to learn about different ways of life, about food production, and about modern practices happening within old industries. Not only do I get paid for work that I love, but I get a bonus education on the side. I’m really looking forward to the next 4 days.
2. The Hubs and I had an awesome time in Truckee last weekend with the dogs. The snow was fine for me, but Great for the dogs, even Summer! She was out there exploring with the rest of the pack. Once again, Britta’s parents made us feel right at home. I can’t wait to return (maybe during the warmer months next time). The woods has always been a good place for my soul, and this trip was no exception. It turns out, it’s also good for the rest of the family.
Talk about action packed am I right? Looking forward to the rest of this shoot, then getting back to creating content for my catering client back in Berkeley when I get home. Plus, I have a visit from my bestie, Jenny, to look forward to next weekend. Have an awesome weekend everyone!
