Sorry I missed you last week on the Great List front. I was busy raking the giant yard shown in this photo. The Hubs and I spent our holiday weekend in northern Minnesota helping my parents open their cabin for the summer. Despite the manual labor, it was actually extraordinarily peaceful and exactly what I needed.
1. I love the beach, but a part of my heart has always lived in the woods. I’m so grateful I was able to get away to the pristine, quiet solitude of the woods last week. Nature is astounding and inspiring, and I really needed a reminder that the world is an awesome place. The Hubs and I were able to refresh, reconnect, and regroup for what’s shaping up to be an action packed summer.
2. Opportunity always seems to knock just about the time life starts to seem hopeless. The life of a freelancer is one of constant ups an downs, and I’m grateful that this week provided more of the ups then the downs. I’m really excited about some potential partnerships I have in the works right now.
3. I enjoyed a lovely dinner hosted by Darling magazine last night that featured the work of some of San Diego’s most inspiring artists and creators. It’s an awesome time to be a creative in this city, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it all. I loved catching up with old friends and getting to know some new inspired ladies. Extra bonus, I didn’t have to cook for once! It’s always a Great day when someone cooks for me (and I don’t have to clean up!)
4. Last but not least, I got a haircut for the first time in months on Wednesday. For me, haircuts are one of life’s simple pleasures, and although a wash and trim doesn’t take very long, I’m grateful for the quick pampering.
Looking forward to the first of many exciting weekends. Summer is here finally, and I can’t wait to make the most of it. Have an awesome weekend.
