This week has sucked all the warm fuzzy feelings I brought back from a wonderful trip to Maine last weekend out of me. I hate it when that happens. Sometimes I come back from a trip and I feel ready to tackle the world. Sometimes I come home and the world tackles me. Despite wanting to crawl under the covers and sleep away the rest of the year, I will instead write my pathetic list of gratitude for the week, and try again tomorrow.
1. I got the biggest carrot I have ever seen in my CSA box this week. Its nearly the size of my forearm in both length and circumference. My farmer suggested I roast it, but I’ll probably just give it to Olive as a treat. Either way, it was a pretty exciting part of my Tuesday.
2. I heard it was really hot in San Diego while I was gone. Fortunately it cooled off just in time for me to come home. When it’s too hot, I can’t take Olive for our usual 3 mile walks, but these week we’ve enjoyed several. Warm temps, awesome breezes. If that’s all I get out of this week, then it’s not so bad.
3. Olive has been getting a Bark Box for a while and I recently ordered one for Summer too. This week both dogs got their boxes and each one of them got a hot dog toy. One big. One tiny. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I keep trying to get them together for a pic, but it’s really hard to wrangle a puppy. Stay tuned to Instagram to see if I can pull it off.
Honestly, I am in such a funk that those are the only good things I can think of this week. Thankfully the weekend is upon us and I have a project on deck that I’m really excited about. Before I wrap this up, I just need to remind myself once again what an awesome time The Hubs and I had in Maine. It was a time we really needed together, and I’m doing my very best to hold on to those happy feelings.
See you next week!
