I didn’t even realize Labor day weekend was coming up until about halfway through my week. I’m so stoked! This week has been very eventful, and I can definitely use an extra day of rest. From teaching classes to being on the news, I hardly had time to think about all the stuff that’s been bothering me lately. It feels good to be busy again. Maybe I should rephrase that. It feels good to be able to be busy again. When I’m in a funk, no matter how much is on my plate, I find it hard to even tackle one task. Cheers to a Great week to kick off a (hopefully) Great new season.
1. The good part about your puppy waking up at 4am is that occasionally you get to see a sight like the huge and beautiful full moon setting over the western horizon. Phone camera photos never do a moon photo justice, but believe me, this was an incredible sight to open the door to in the early morning hours.
2. Last Sunday felt like the best day of my life. The Hubs was still out of town, so I was at home with just the dogs. No one talked to me. I got to move at my own pace. I accomplished a ton of tasks from my pile of to-do’s, all while leisurely watching any show I wanted and having an occasional beer. It was one of those days that you dream about when you say, “if only I could have one more day to just work without interruption”. I think that day was a real turning point for me, and because I was able to take that time for myself, I’m feeling better prepared and motivated for what lies ahead.
3. Leila started school this week, and I got a little choked up when I talked to her on the phone. I know parents say this all the time, but I really can’t believe how fast she’s grown. She is such a wonderful little person, so curious and outgoing, and I can only see school bringing out the best in her. I was one of those kids who loved school, and I know Leila is going to be the same. I can’t wait to see her this weekend and hear all about her new adventure.
Hubs is home finally, and I’m looking forward to enjoying a long, leisurely weekend with him and the pups. I hope you all make the most of your extra day off!
