Here we are at the end of another week. This one seemed to just crawl by. Fingers crossed the weekend moves just as slowly. 4th quarter starts next week (so does Fun Month!!!) which is my busiest time of year. I can already feel the uptick in business, but I’m still struggling to really connect with all that’s going on in my life. I know I probably sound like a broken record waiting for my (year long) funk to clear, but it’s still lingering. Hopefully all this gratitude I’m throwing around will continue to chip away at it little by little.
- Last week I was unable to write a Great List post because I was jaunting around Disneyland with my favorite five year old! Leila’s 5th birthday celebration, from a trip to Disney to a taco party on Sunday, was really wonderful. I’ve decided that I may be turning into creepy (probably misunderstood) Michael Jackson, only wanting to hang around with kids all the time. I totally get it Michael, they’re very fun and uncomplicated. Exactly what I need in my life right now. Seeing Leila’s pure joy and wonder was almost too much for me to handle. I can’t wait to go back.
- My favorite show, Survivor, premiered this week. Yes, it’s been on TV for 15 years and 31 seasons, but I still just love it! Every year there are awesome new twists, and I always find myself completely captivated. It’s like my version of football season. When life is as complicated as it is right now, simple things like a dumb TV show are truly what I look forward to.
- I’m reading a Great book right now, South of Broad by Pat Conroy (my favorite author). It’s been a while since I read a book that I find myself thinking about throughout the day. I usually read before bed in order to fall asleep, but this book has caused me to stay up late, because I can’t put it down. I’ve always loved to read, and I’m truly thrilled when I become so engrossed in a book like this. It’s especially satisfying after the last 6 or 7 books I’ve read that have been only “fine” “good”. I can’t wait to see how it ends.
So yeah, pretty boring stuff over here. Hopefully something really wonderful is on the horizon so I can rivet you all with fabulous tales (Don’t hold your breath). I hope you all can find some tiny joy in your everyday lives as well. Enjoy the weekend.
