I am so grateful that this week was swift and painless. No shit hit the fan, no major stressors, just business as usual. Sometimes mediocre and uneventful weeks are the stuff dreams are made of. It’s nice not to be bombarded from all angles.
1. I had a real stroke of inspiration this week. It’s the best thing ever to feel really excited about a creative idea again. For a while now I’ve been going through the motions hoping that something will cause a spark. I’m not sure what exactly caused the spark this time, but the ideas are flowing. All I have to do is convince my company to help me create them all.
2. I carved my first Jack-o-Lantern this week, which is my absolute favorite Halloween activity. Leila and I talked about making a Mickey Mouse Jack-o-Lantern like we saw at Disney, so maybe I can set that up for next week. With the end of daylight savings time creeping nearer, I’m trying to maximize my fun before I turn into a grinch and hibernate until March.
3. I started going to a new pilates place a couple of weeks ago and I really love it. The workouts are killer, but more importantly the people are really friendly and everyone has a good sense of humor. I work out at a lot of different places, and some tend to be a bit snooty. I’m there to work, so I don’t really care if people are friendly or not, but it definitely makes it a lot more fun when everyone is laughing.
4. This was a big payout week for me. As a freelancer, I’m often waiting for clients to pay me. Just like with the workload, when it rains, it pours, and it poured on me this week! The real challenge is budgeting during Fun Month. I just want to buy myself presents!!!
It looks like another HOT weekend in San Diego is ahead. A big group of us are ditching work early today and heading to see a huge lineup of comics at the Oddball Comedy Fest. Beyond that, I’m hoping for some F.I.T.S (Fun in the sun) starting with a trip to the beach for the doggies. Hooray for endless Summer! Have a great weekend everyone.
