This week was pretty mundane, but I’m totally ok with that. There’s been enough excitement, chaos and emotions lately to last me for a good long while. Sometimes it can be a relief to just go through the motions for a week or so. I know this can be a slippery slope, but I’m pretty sure the end of the crazy is nowhere in sight, so I’m not worried about falling into a pit of banality. I’m just going to choose to be grateful for this temporary pause.
1. Honestly the greatest part of my week is not having to put a diaper on Summer anymore. That was pretty torturous for all parties involved, and I’m super relieved to have one less thing to worry about. I mean c’mon universe, that was not cool. We all survived, relatively unscathed, and are moving forward on a new page. Phew.
2. I was pleasantly surprised by having a day off in the middle of the week. I made an hour by hour schedule for myself that day and managed to knock a bajillion things off my to-do list. Lame and uninteresting I know, but totally necessary. Thanks to the planning pages I mentioned last week, I’ve been feeling pretty good and focused lately. Just plugging along……..
3. I tried a new yoga studio this week and really enjoyed it. I’m actually kind of sad that I hadn’t tried it sooner since it’s right near my house. I did buy a ten class pass, so I’ll get to go a few more times before I move. Yoga has been such a saving grace to me over the last few months. Even one hour a day of total presence keeps me from going completely insane.
Sadly, that pretty much wraps up the highlights of my week. We’re heading to Oakland this weekend to look for a place to live. I’m FREAKING OUT about it for many reasons, but mostly because I’m afraid I’m going to flat out hate it there. I think I’ll feel a lot better about this whole move and everything in general once I know exactly where we’re going to be living. Please send all your best positive vibes my way!
