This has been a really frustrating week. It was full of vet visits, messy clean ups, sore throats, cold weather, serious conversations, last minute changes, and long work hours. It’s weeks like these that I need this Great List the most. This week, its the small things.
1. I found myself in a place of extreme anger this week, but thankfully, it subsided. I feel grateful for the fact that I was able to separate logic from my emotions, realize that the anger in no way helped the situation, and was able to let it go.
2. Its been cold in San Diego this week and we’ve been having fires in our fireplace. Sitting under a warm quilt, with a roaring fire and a twinkling christmas tree makes me feel grateful for the roof over my head and all the comforts I have in my life. Instead of complaining about the cold, I feel happy that I have a warm place to go home to.
3. I’m so grateful for Chris and Kathy our housekeepers. They’ve been off for more than a month and finally came back this week. Its almost as if they knew that I was about to lose myself in a pile of dog hair and dust. When life gets hectic, it can be really hard to keep up with the simplest things. They swooped in yesterday like super heroes and my house is now sparkling. I always find a sense of peace in a clean and organized space. It never stays that way for long around here, but these first days are the best. I can’t think of a better way to kick off my weekend.
4. My holiday wine club delivery came this week. Again, just in the nick of about-to-lose-my-mind time. Clean house+2 magnums of champagne=great weekend
Hope yours is great too!
