Tick tock I can hear the end of the year coming and I am so excited! This week was pretty good, although I have a feeling next week will be awesome once work is finally done for the rest of year. Lately I kind of feel like I’m standing on the edge of a cliff. There are a lot of (hopefully) exciting changes that are happening for us in 2015, but we’re not quite sure how they’re going to manifest, we just know they’re coming. It’s exciting and terrifying all at once, and I think I might die from impatience. As a result, this waiting game has driven me to a state of total numbness and indifference. Like I’m floating along through a haze. When I sit to write this Great List, I find myself thinking, “Hmmmmmm Great stuff…..what happened yesterday?” My mind is a total blank, so bear with me.
1. I received a lot of Great Christmas cheer this week in the form of homemade Kahlua, Christmas cards from friends near and far, a dancing Jesus book, and my personal favorite, a calendar filled with cute puppy pics. Despite my grinchiness, it’s always Great to know that people are thinking about you.
2. I got a random text from a friend this week that said, “Do you want to go to Maui in January?” When I looked up flights they were actually really cheap so I booked it! In my text to her I wrote, “Hawaii is my spirit animal. I can’t think of a better way to start a year.” This is so true. Hawaii is my most favorite place in the world, and always brings me such peace and inspiration. After the way I’ve been feeling lately, I think this will be a Great rejuvenation for me.
3. Val stopped by for a few minutes this week and we got to chat in peace for the first time in a while. Life can get complicated when kids and husbands are involved, but it’s always a Great feeling to just be us every once in a while. I also never realize how much I need those times with my friends until they happen, and make me feel so Great. I definitely will be putting more effort into that in the new year.
4. Olive got her first Bark Box this week, and it was truly like a kid on Christmas. I couldn’t stop laughing at her tossing the toys around, and running back and forth between all of them. She is such a funny girl. I guess I’ll be extending our subscription!
I’m not sure if I’ll be writing my Great List or not next week. I may step away for a bit or I may not. That’s the beauty of Betsylife, I get to do whatever I want! I hope you’re all enjoying the holidays, and I’ll see you back here when I see ya.
