Time to get crackin’ on December Seasonal Potluck! Unfortunately, I haven’t gone to the store yet this week since we’re still working on our all holiday leftovers, and dishes born from holiday leftovers. The fridge is finally looking pretty bare today, so I think I’ll go ahead and stock up.
This was my first full week back at work in a LONG time, and boy was it a toughie. I think I’ve been spoiled with all my travels and holiday fun. This sandwich definitely helped ease my weary mind. I think a lot of people don’t realize that they can make “grilled cheese” out of more than just Kraft singles (although the classic is good too!) Inspired by one of my favorite websites, Grilled Cheese Social, I set out to make a delicious sandwich with what I had in my kitchen, including the extra pears I bought last week for my stuffing.
Although next time I would build this sandwich differently (I spread the cheese on the bread, but it needs to be in the center too in order to hold it all together) the flavors were fabulous, and I was enjoying dinner in less than 15 minutes!
As promised in my post yesterday, I wanted to share my workout with you as well. Yesterday I did the 10lb slim down extreme core workout on exercise TV. 40 minutes of core target exercises, mixed with short bursts of cardio. I know most people aren’t as fortunate as we are to have weather nice enough to workout outdoors every day of the year. During the cold winter months, you should look on your cable for free workout videos on demand. That’s where I find all of mine. I have AT&T cable, but my friend has Time Warner, and she gets all the same free videos I get. There are dozens to choose from. I keep a list of the ones that I like, so I can mix it up and never get bored. Sure, occasionally I run across a dud, but then I just stop, and start a new one. Its all free!
