Well I’m off to a bit of a slow start this week. Not that I’m not doing my usual million things at once, its just that everything is taking a bit longer than I had planned so I’m already behind and its only Monday. Oh well! I have a lot of exciting things happening right now. As you may have noticed, my blog is looking a little different (The Hubs and I are still playing around with formatting ideas so nothing is totally final. Suggestions welcome!) I’ve got all sorts of gardening, organizing and cooking projects in the pipeline, as well as making progress on my other half, betsyfood.com (details on that another time) Tax season is winding down FINALLY allowing me to do more fun things. I’m REALLY looking forward to the end of crappy daylight savings time next week, so I’ll have more daylight in the evenings to photograph delicious food items for your viewing pleasure.
One random story for you. Over the weekend we were dog sitting for Jack, our friends, Gary and Teresa’s dog, while they were off getting married! YAY to the Peterson’s! They informed us that Jack is a picky eater and often won’t eat his food when given to him. Another dog we often sit for, Riley, does the same thing, so I wasn’t too worried about it. Jack ate on Friday night, but then didn’t eat at all on Saturday. On Sunday, The Hubs said “well maybe he just doesn’t like his food” which I found kind of funny. I guess I’ve never really thought of dogs having taste buds. We concocted a dog food taste test for Jack (an example of the simple ways we amuse ourselves) using our dog’s food (a mixture of Science Diet light and Purina for older dogs), some of Riley’s food, which we had at our house still (ZD Ultra Allergen Free), and Jack’s regular food (Eukanuba for Labradors) We made three piles on the kitchen floor and then let Jack go. He zoomed straight to the ZD food, ate the whole pile and walked out of the kitchen. He didn’t even look twice at the other foods! Oh science, you’re so interesting! I guess the lesson is, if you’re dog won’t eat, maybe they just don’t like their food (**consult your veterinarian)
I know you’re all dying to know what’s up with my Eggling. Well lo and behold we’ve just about got ourselves a sunflower here! Just in time for summer (aka end of daylight savings time)!
You can also check out my little grass hair man that I got as a valentine! So cute! Can’t wait to plant the rest of my garden outside (hopefully next weekend) Have a great week all!
