Strawberry Balsamic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

January 1, 2019 By betsy 14 Comments

Grilled cheese sandwich perfection! Strawberry balsamic grilled cheese is the seasonal comfort food you will crave every day.

Strawberry Balsamic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I’m still a little brain dead from the holiday weekend. I’m learning that recovery time is directly proportionate to your age. Maybe one of these days I’ll learn to take it easy, but until then I’ll just slog through any and all weeks following a long holiday weekend.

Thank god for my CSA box or I’d be starving today.

Strawberry Balsamic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Strawberries+mozzarella+balsamic vinegar+fresh mint= the greatest hangover sandwich of all time. It was totally worth the dairy overload.

How’s everyone else’s recovery going? Anyone in the same boat as me? God I love summer!

One of my favorite things about summer is all the awesome produce that is available this time of year. There is nothing better than hitting the farmer’s market and coming home with an overflowing bag of fresh produce.

Salads are always great, but grilled cheese sandwiches are even better! I like to get creative with my produce by roasting, pickling and marinating my veggies before smashing them between two slices of bread.

CSA box or I would be eating leftover salsa from our salsa contest for dinner this week (I didn’t win).

I mean, strawberries in a grilled cheese sandwich? That’s just a jumping off point. Could you imagine a grilled cheese with pickled onions? Maybe some broccoli? Tomatoes and basil? What about apples and bacon? Beets would work great, and so would melons or peppers. I’m starting to think I should start an entirely new blog that just focuses on grilled cheese sandwiches.

Cheese, bread, and some fresh seasonal ingredients are all you need to make one killer summer meal. You could even make it a “bar” so everyone can customize their own sandwiches.

It’s not really a recipe exactly because I assumed people know how to make a grilled cheese sandwich. The post is more about challenging different flavor combinations that could be combined in a grilled cheese like Strawberries+mozzarella+balsamic vinegar+fresh mint

What the heck Betsy? Why make this post, why include words, if it’s not a recipe?

I didn’t realize I needed to spell out how to make a grilled cheese sandwich
            1. spread butter on one side of two slices of bread
            2. put cheese and other filling ingredients between the two slices of bread with the buttered side on the outside
            3. Cook in a pan until golden brown on each side, flipping halfway through

You don’t even describe how you made it, how much balsamic vinegar, how much strawberries, shredded mozzarella or slices, what breads go better. Yes people know how to make grill cheese, but they don’t know how to make your version. Why be so lazy as to not even put a basic recipe unless you just are fishing for clicks.

Good thing you have a lot of time to experiment in your own kitchen. Make it to your liking. There is no wrong answer

You’re actually pretty rude to be honest. It’d be nice to add steps/recipe so ones on grilled cheese can come out like yours. Bottle neck bitch.

Super rude and very weird to not include a recipe in a blog…regardless if people know how to make a grilled cheese. It just makes zero sense.

Would love to try this, but HOW? Why isn’t there a recipe or even an idea on how to use the balsamic? Please consider sharing.
