My favorite finess fanatic, Valerie, is back with another awesome fitness tip to kick off your summer. Fitness isn’t about being skinny or looking hot in a bikini, its about feeling good and being able to enjoy your life because your body is working properly. Big or small, we should all be trying to improve our fitness. Especially now that its summer. Most people have been cooped up indoors all winter, and now it’s time to get outside and get moving!
Set reasonable goals
Personal goal setting is critical in advancing your fitness level. I’ve found the secret to success is achieving balance between what’s challenging yet still attainable for you within a particular amount of time. The key word is YOU. These are your goals. Don’t strive for perfection and set yourself up for disappointment (or injury!) with an improbable goal. Instead, break a bigger goal into smaller, realistic goals that help keep you on track with your workouts and focus on increasing healthy behaviors. Celebrate each victory and use the boost in confidence to reach your next goal!
My dad always used to say to us, “you worry about you”. Don’t compare yourself to others. Not even to your friends who are your same age. Goals are as unique as body types and you need to tailor your goals to your life. Now set yourself a small goal and get out there and accomplish it. Thanks for another great tip Val!
