I’m in the midst of a lazy Sunday today. I’ve done very little this weekend and it has been great! I’m almost done with the book I’m reading, and finally got to spend some QT with The Hubs, something I don’t feel like we get to do often enough. So far, this August has been perfect!
I did venture out with Jen and Leila on Saturday to check out the Queen Bee Market, which is sort of a craft fair with goods all handmade by women. It was an awesome event and a great place to gain inspiration! Since I’ve started blogging, more than anything I’ve loved meeting and interacting with a huge variety of people from all over the world, and seeing what goes on in their lives and what inspires them. This was a great way to see some of this first hand. Its really admirable that a lot of these women are mom’s who somehow manage to crank out amazing handmade items while working, blogging and raising children.
Of course I didn’t leave the market empty handed. In fact, there was a few things I put back because I thought I was getting a little out of control spending wise. Hoping to get those items for my upcoming birthday! Here’s my haul:
1. Teacup cupcake stand by Bliss Blvd Designs
2. “Verve” candle by Aura Candles (this smells AMAZING!)
3. “Native summer” notecards from Redstar Ink
4. Lemon Coconut Lip Balm from Fresh Batch Soap Co.
5. Mini alphabet stamps from We Love Citrus
6. Silver, dandelion stamped ring from Spiffing Jewelry
7. Crocheted cuff bracelet from Emily Sparks
8. All is well necklace from Crystal B.
Be sure to check out all these websites! There is some really great stuff available, plus, you’ll be helping out a small business which needs to happen more often these days. Great stuff, and great job to all who participated in this event! I’ll surely be visiting everyone’s etsy shop’s around the holidays to pick up some handmade originals. How has everyone else’s weekend been?
