Antipasto Skewers

Antipasto skewers are a simple appetizer that can be made ahead of any party. A collection of all your favorite bite sized foods on an easy to enjoy skewer.

Ingredients

  • 1 10 oz pacakage Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage sliced
  • 1 medium summer squash sliced
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 jar Sprouts sweet and spicy cherry peppers sliced
  • 1 package Sprouts cheese curds
  • 1 package fresh basil
  • balsamic glaze
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and spread sausage slices and squash slices in an even layer.

  2. Sprinkle sausage and squash with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Roast for 15 minutes until cooked through.

  3. Meanwhile, remove several cherry peppers from the jar and pat dry. Slice into roughly 1/2 inch sized pieces.
  4. To assemble the skewers, rip a small piece of basil and skewer, followed by a slice of pepper, a cheese curd, a squash slice and finally a sausage coin. Drizzle with balsamic glaze.

  5. Serve.

Recipe Notes

Substitute your favorite sausage flavor, squash or vegetable (think zucchini, cherry tomatoes, etc.), favorite type of cheese (mozzarella, provolone, cheddar)
