Ingredients

For simple syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

For the lemonade

  • 6-10 lemons enough for 2 cups of juice depending on size
  • water

Instructions

To make the simple syrup

  1. Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, stirring until sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

To make the lemonade

  1. Heat a grill or a grill pan to medium heat. Cut lemons in half and place each half cut-side down on the grill grates. Grill for 2-4 minutes until charred.
  2. Juice charred lemons into a bowl or measuring cup, then strain juice to remove any seeds or unwanted pulp.
  3. Combine 2 cups lemon juice and simple syrup in a large pitcher. Add more water until desired flavor is reached.
  4. Chill before serving.
