This cast iron skillet apple pie has a delicious savory cheddar crust and thin caramel layer underneath. Truly the greatest sweet and savory combination ever!
Melt butter in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat; add brown sugar, and cook, stirring constantly, 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture is smooth and fully combined. Remove from heat, and place 1 piecrust in skillet over brown sugar mixture. Spoon apple mixture over piecrust, and top with remaining piecrust. Fold edges over and crimp to seal.
To make your own boiled cider, boil 2 cups pure apple cider until reduced to 2/3 cups.
