Chocolate Dipped Oreos coated in crushed candy canes. The perfect cookie swap recipe!

Chocolate Peppermint Oreos. An Easy holiday treat!

Cookies have dominated my life the last few weeks with cookiepocalypse, Urban Craft Camp, and now the Food Blogger Cookie Swap. Never in my life have I made so many cookies in such a short amount of time, and believe me, I will not be baking cookies again for a looooooooong time. For my final cookie of 2014, I present to you chocolate peppermint oreos!

Chocolate Peppermint Oreos. An Easy holiday treat!

Anyone who knows me knows that there are two things in cooking that I really hate. The first is rolling out dough, and the second is dipping something in chocolate. Neither of those things ever go as planned. So why did I decide to make something chocolate dipped you ask? Because I’m one of those people who just can’t quit until I get it right.

This year I used candy melts, which helped a lot, but I still didn’t quite get the consistency I was hoping for. The good news with all rolled dough and chocolate dipped fails, is that they still taste good no matter how they look.

Chocolate Peppermint Oreos. An Easy holiday treat!

I hope my cookie swap matches enjoyed my simple, yet tasty, cookie choice. I certainly enjoyed the cookies I received. So much so, that I didn’t even get a chance to photograph them before they were gone. They were seriously amazing.

The first cookie I got was brownie sugar cookies from Sarah at Whole and Heavenly Oven. I had eaten all but 5 which I was saving to photograph. I looked over just as The Hubs was stuffing the last one in his mouth. Whoops!

Next I got some white chocolate gingerbread cookies from Aimee Broussard. Those didn’t stand a chance as The Hubs and I are both gingerbread fanatics. Once again, gone before the photo could get snapped.

Unfortunately I only received two batches of cookies this year instead of three. These things are bound to happen with an event of this magnitude. I have already consumed a record amount of cookies for the year, so thank you random third cookie match for watching out for my waistline and not sending cookies! Chocolate Peppermint Oreos. An Easy holiday treat!

Hahaha! I totally laughed at that story of your husband eating the cookies before you could snap photos! Best compliment ever and I’m so glad that you both enjoyed them! 🙂 And these oreos?! They totally need to happen in my kitchen—loving how simple and easy they look!
